Exactly 50 years to the day after its first broadcast in Germany, the MK&G is celebrating Sesamstrasse's birthday with special activities for the whole family: Sesamstrasse stars Ernie and Bert will be on hand to welcome visitors, answer questions and give away autograph cards. And the popular character Elmo will also put in an appearance. Sesamstrasse fans can unleash their own creativity in modelling and crafts workshops and at a painting station. Or they can relax and watch selected films from 50 years of the show’s history. In the panel discussion "Being Samson", two actors who have played Samson will talk about cherished moments as well as the challenges of their profession. And of course there will be a big birthday cake – first come, first served!

Susi Schraube: Crafts Workshop FULLY BOOKED
The inventor Susi Schraube is able to find a solution to any everyday problem. Inspired by the animated films about this clever girl with glasses and dungarees, the participants will create their own whimsical objects out of wire, wood, paper and plasticine. Supervising the workshop will be Cecile Noldus, the artist who designed Susi Schraube.
For children 8 years and older, approx. 1.5 hours, max. 15 participants

Plonsters: Fimo Workshop FULLY BOOKED
The three chaotic little clay men can turn themselves into anything, always coming up with something new for fun and excitement! Together with the artist Marlin van Soest, participants can bring their own little monsters to life and take them home afterwards.

Puppet Show: Ernie and Bert on Stage
Who doesn’t know and love Ernie and Bert, the inseparable friends! They will clown around together for the audience at the MK&G, answer questions and hand out autograph cards.

Panel discussion: Being Samson
Two Samson actors will talk with host Julian Schlichting about their experiences playing the life-size bear. Peter Röders was the first Samson from 1978, and Klaus Esch has embodied the character since 1992.

Tickets are available for the regular museum admission fee; free admission for children and teenagers under 18. Photographs and films of the events will be made. Very limited parking spaces are available for prams.
