ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

This accessibility statement applies to the MK&G website published at www.mkg-hamburg.de. As a public institution referring to the guidlines (EU) 2016/2102, we are committed to make our website accessible in accordance with the regulations of the Bundes Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (BGG), the Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung  (BITV 2.0) and the regulations of the Hamburg Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (HmbBBG) and the Hamburg Barrierefreie Informationstechnik-Verordnung (HmbBITVO) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The requirements of accessibility result from §§ 3 paragraphs 1 to 4 and 4 of BITV 2.0, which was enacted on the basis of § 12 BGG, and from § 1 of HmbBITVO, which was enacted on the basis of § 11 HmbBGG.

The review of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment carried out on 06.05.2022. An external assessment is to be carried out.  Based on the self-assessment, the website is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements. Existing barriers will be removed in a timely manner.

The following features are compatible with the above requirements according to our initial assessment:

– Statically positioned images have an ALT-Tag
– Links and buttons mostly have a target and a title
– List-like structures such as teaser lists are recognisable as such by means of the mark-up
– Used aria-attributes correspond to their specified roles
– Form elements have associative labels
– If interactive elements have an ID, the ID’s are unique
– Navigation is possible using standard keys such as Tab, Enter and Space

More detailed statements about existing barriers in the other functions and content of the website, with justification if necessary, can only be made after the above-mentioned external assessment has been carried out.

Arbitration procedure

If a satisfactory solution has not been found even after you have given feedback to the above mentioned contact, you can turn to the arbitration service according to § 13 a HmbBGG. The arbitration service has the task of supporting an out-of-court settlement of disputes between persons with disabilities and public bodies in the event of conflicts on the subject of accessibility. The procedure is free of charge. No legal counsel needs to be involved.

At present, the Ombudsman's Office of the Senate Chancellery is taking over the activities of the arbitration service, which has yet to be established.
