Die Edition der "Poésies" von Stéphane Mallarmé vorliegend in einem Pressendruck der Gesellschaft bibliophiler Frauen "Les Cent Une" aus dem Jahr 1931 mit Illustrationen von Berthe Morisot. Für die Gestaltung des Schubers findet ein Motiv Verwendung, das Mallarmé in zwei seiner Gedichte enthusiastisch beschreibt: den Fächer. Die sechs Radierungen im Text entstanden nach Zeichnungen von Berthe Morisot, sie liegen zusätzlich in einem zweiten Abzug auf gelblichem Japanpapier vor. Die Malerin und der Poet waren freundschaftlich verbunden und pflegten einen regen künstlerischen Austausch.
