Noch in der ersten Bearbeitung im Jahr 1917 wurde diese Figurenvase trotz gewisser Zweifel als antik eingeordnet. Die Figur des breitbeinig sitzenden Silens findet sich selten in der unteritalischen Keramik.
Möglicherweise lehnte sich der Fälscher an ein Gefäß in Neapel oder Figurentypen breitbeinig sitzender, männlicher Figuren an, die seit der archaischen Zeit überliefert sind.
Dargestellt ist ein auf einem Sockel breitbeinig hockender Mann. Er ist nackt, hat einen dicken Bauch. Arme, Beine und Körper sind kaum untergliedert. Der Kopf ist oval, die Lippen sind geschlossen. Auf dem Kopf steht ein Becher, der mit einer Palmette in roter Farbe verziert ist. Im Nacken der Figur steht ein Ringhenkel ab.
