Auf einem Felsblock sitzt ein Mädchen und hält in seiner linken Hand einen stabförmigen Gegenstand, vielleicht eine Schriftrolle. Es zeigt deutliche Parallelen zu Musen einer Gruppe, die dem rhodischen Bildhauer Philiskos zugeschrieben werden. Wahrscheinlich gehört die Muse zu einem mehrfigurigen Zyklus. Musen, "Sinnende" oder "Erinnernde", sind Töchter des Göttervaters Zeus und der Mnemosyne.
Schädelkalotte und ein Teil des rechten Oberschenkels sind gesondert gearbeitet und gedübelt. Bohrmuschelfraß weist auf einen Meeresfund hin.
