Zum Neujahrstag wird das Widderhorn geblasen – zum Auftakt der zehntätigen Bußzeit, die am Jom Kippur, dem Tag der Versöhnung, endet. Das Horn erinnert daran, dass Abraham Gott einen Widder darreicht, statt seinen Sohn zu opfern.
