Aufgrund der beiden kleinen Ösen an den Seiten wird diese Gefäßgattung als Schnurösengefäße bezeichnet. Sie waren einst an Fäden aufgehängt. In der Regel handelt es sich um flache, schalenartige Formen – hier ist das Gefäß lang gestreckt.
Das Innere ist mit dem Drehbohrer ausgebohrt. Drehspuren deutlich erkennbar. Das Äußere wahrscheinlich auf der Drehbank abgedreht und sorgfältig geglättet. Deutlich wird, wie der Handwerker die Maserung des Steins als gestalterisches Merkmal einsetzte.
Wahrscheinlich diente das Gefäß als Ölbehälter oder zur Aufbewahrung von Schminke, Farbe oder wertvollen Parfumsubstanzen.
