Das kleine eiförmige Gefäß weist einen flachen Boden und eine kleine Mündung auf. Neben dem schwarzen, von weißen Adern durchzogenen Stein ist vor allem die Anbringung eines Goldbleches am Rand und an den seitlichen Ösenhenkeln bemerkenswert. Zur Befestigung dient eine harzartige Masse, die von innen zu sehen ist. Das Innere ist ausgebohrt.
Das Gefäß diente ursprünglich zur Aufbewahrung kostbarer Substanzen, z. B. von Duftölen oder Schminkpasten.
