Die lanzettförmige Schminkpalette weist an ihrem oberen Ende zwei voneinander abgewendete stark abstrahierte Vogelköpfe auf. Zwischen beiden Köpfen befindet sich eine Durchbohrung. Das Zerreiben der Mineralien hat auf beiden Seiten der Palette jeweils eine kleine Eintiefung hinterlassen, die somit von einem regelmäßigen Gebrauch zeugen.
Solche Schminkpaletten sind charakteristisch für die Naqada-Kultur des 4. Jahrtausends v. Chr. Die auf ihnen angemischte Farbe diente zum Schminken oder auch der Bemalung von Kultstatuen.
