Bei dieser Schminkpalette in Form eines Steinbocks sind der Kopf sowie die Vorderläufe abgebrochen. Der Körper ist massig und an den Kanten gebogen. Im vorderen Drittel des Rückens befindet sich eine Durchbohrung.
Schminkpaletten sind charakteristisch für die Naqada-Kultur des 4. Jahrtausends v. Chr. Auf den grün-grauen Schiederplatten wurden Mineralien zerrieben und zu Farben angemischt. Auf der Rückseite dieser Platte sind noch Reste grüner Malachitschminke erhalten. Hier steht die moderne Aufschrift 'el Kab', möglicherweise ein Hinweis auf den Fundort. El-Kab befindet sich in Oberägypten, 15 Kilometer nördlich von Edfu und 65 Kilometer südlich von Luxor. Hier wurden bei Ausgrabungen auch prädynastische Gräber entdeckt.
