Schminkpalette in Form eines Krokodils

Ungewöhnlich sind Form und Größe dieser Schminkpalette, die wohl ein Krokodil zeigt. Die längliche Platte aus graugrünem Schiefer ist an der oberen Kante stärker gewölbt, während die untere nahezu gerade verläuft. Grob sind die Umrisse eine Krokodils wiedergegeben, obgleich das Maul sehr kurz ist. Die Panzerplatten des Schwanzes sind durch Einkerbungen und Ritzlinien gestaltet. Etwas oberhalb der Vorderbeine befindet sich ein von beiden Seiten her mit einer konischen Verjüngung gebohrtes Loch.
Schminkpaletten sind charakteristisch für die Naqada-Kultur des 4. Jahrtausends v. Chr.
