Schatzfund von Palaiokastron – Applik in Form einer Nereide auf einem Delphin

Das mit drei Ösen an einem Gewand befestigte Reliefblech zeigt
eine auf einem Delphin nach rechts reitende Nereide. Sie ist in einen langen Mantel gehüllt, der sich hinter dem Oberkörper als Bogen bauschig aufbläht. Bemerkenswert ist die fein ausgearbeitete See unter den Figuren sowie in der Fläche zwischen Delphinschwanz und Nereide. Links unten wurde ein zusätzliches Loch in die Applik geschlagen, da hier wohl eine Öse verloren gegangen war. Unmittelbar vergleichbar ist die Applik Inv. 1917.200.
Zusammen mit ähnlichen Gewandappliken stammt dieses Stück aus dem 1909 entdeckten und ausgegrabenen Fund von Palaiokastron in Thessalien.
