Frei und selbstbewusst präsentiert sich Daniel Gottlieb Keilpflug (1752-1818), der wohl ab 1786 königlicher Hofschneidermeister im Dienste König Friedrich Wilhelms III. (1770-1840) in Berlin war. Seit dem Zeitalter der Aufklärung gebührte dies einem zu Amt und Würde gekommenen Gewerbetreibenden. Die Plastik des Hofbildhauers Johann Gottfried Schadow strahlt eine außerordentliche Lebendigkeit und Frische aus. Die Gipsbüste stammt aus dem Besitz der Familie Keilpflug und ist als selbstständiges Kunstwerk zu sehen. Es sollte sicherlich in diesem kostengünstigen Material verbleiben und war nicht zur weiteren Ausführung in Marmor bestimmt.
