Die hervorragend erhaltene, besonders qualitätvolle Schale muss aus dem Atelier eines Silberschmieds aus Kleinasien stammen, einem Gebiet, wo sich griechische und persische Kunst berührt und gegenseitig beeinflusst haben. Die Dekoration setzt sich aus einem Kranz von zwölf tropfenförmigen Buckeln zusammen, die in stilisierte lotusartige Blüten eingebunden sind. Auf der Unterseite des zentralen Buckels (griech. omphalos) befindet sich ein eingraviertes Zeichen. Es handelt sich wohl nicht um eine Händlermarke, sondern eine Gewichtsangabe.
