Die frühe Bucchero-Keramik, der auch diese Kanne zuzuweisen ist, ist dünnwandig und hat eine hervorragend geglättete, schwarz glänzende Oberfläche. Dieses frühe Bucchero sottile wurde hauptsächlich in Caere (Cerveteri), aber auch in Veji und Tarquinia produziert.
Die Kanne ist im Schulter- und Bauchbereich mit einer vertikalen Riefelung dekoriert. Den leicht eingezogenen hohen Hals und den Schlaufenhenkel verzieren Dekorationselemente, die mit dem Rädchen hergestellt sind. Die Halszone ist in zwei Register geteilt und im unteren mit geöffneten, im oberen mit geschlossenen Fächermotiven verziert. Geschlossene Fächermotive dekorieren übereinander gestaffelt auch die Außenseite des Henkels.
