Aufgrund ihrer besonderen Form wird dieser Typus der Halsamphora als 'Nolanische Amphora' bezeichnet. Ihren Namen erhielten sie aufgrund zahlreicher in und bei den unteritalischen Städten Nola und Capua gefundener Exemplare.
Bis auf eine rotbraune Kehle zwischen Fuß und Körper ist das Gefäß außen vollständig mit Glanzton überzogen. Der Mündungstrichter und der obere Teil des Halses sind innen ebenfalls gefirnisst. Die Innenwandung und die Fußunterseite sind tongrundig belassen.
