Den Kasten für die Aufbewahrung von Muscheln für das Muschelspiel (kaiawase) zieren Ranken und zwei Wappen im flachen Streubild (hiramakie). Das Paulownia-Wappen (kiri-mon) und das Neun-Sterne-Wappen (kuyō-mon) mit stilisierten Sternen sind Familienwappen der Hosokawa-Familie.
