Wie der Ansatz des linken Halsmuskels zeigt, muss der Kopf von einer Statue stammen – er ist also kein Votivkopf. Man möchte an eine nackte Figur denken in der Art des Jünglings von Portonaccio aus dem Anfang des 4. Jahrhunderts v. Chr.; aber auch eine Mantelstatue wäre denkbar.
Die über der Stirn wie abgeschnittenen, sich an den Schläfen lockenden Haare sind eine speziell italische Variante polykletischer Vorbilder, die in Etrurien starken Anklang gefunden haben.
Typisch etruskisch ist die eingestochene Pupille, die die Intensität des Blickes steigern soll.
