Kertscher Pelike (A: Greif, Amazone und Pferd | B: Zwei Manteljünglinge)

Bei diesem Gefäß handelt es sich um eine Sonderform der Amphore, die durch einen tropfenförmigen Körper gekennzeichnet ist. Sie wird als Pelike bezeichnet. Der weit ausladende Mündungsteller und der Stil der Bemalung verweisen auf eine späte Entstehung, so dass das Gefäß den sogenannten Kertscher Vasen zugeordnet werden kann.
Das Bildfeld zwischen den Henkeln sowie der Mündungsteller sind mit einem groben, flüchtig gemalten Eierstab verziert.
Auf Seite A sind von links nach rechts die Protome eines Adlergreifen mit spitzen Ohren und Zackenkamm auf dem Rücken, ein Amazonenkopf mit sogenannter Phrygischer Mütze und ein gezäumter Pferdekopf dargestellt. Sie sind im Profil nach rechts gezeigt. Kopf und Brust des Greifen sowie das Gesicht der Amazone sind in weißer Zusatzfarbe angegeben.
Auf Seite B sind in flüchtiger Malerei zwei einander zugewandte Mantelfiguren angegeben. Die linke Figur hält ein Tympanon. Zwischen beiden befindet sich ein Pfeiler.
