Der Helm weist einen aus zwei Blechen gebildeten geschweiften Kamm auf. Unterhalb des Kamms über Stirn und Nacken sind je drei vierkantige, glatte, an den Ecken zugespitzte Bolzen angebracht, die an einer Platte sitzen.
Die Kalotte ist bis auf einen Zierstreifen am unteren Abschluss, der mit einem getriebenen Zackenband aus je drei Stäben verziert ist, schmucklos.
In mehreren Fällen ist eine praktische Verwendung wegen der Größe des Kammes oder der kleinen Kalotte zweifelhaft. Einige der bronzenen Kammhelme scheinen eigens für das Totenritual hergestellt worden zu sein, da ihr Bronzeblech zu dünn ist, um im Kampf einen Schutz bieten zu können. Wie helmförmige Urnendeckel kennzeichnen die Kammhelme die Verstorbenen als Krieger.
