Das Korbgefäß öffnet sich in durchgehendem Schwung zum oberen Rand. Dieser weist eine Profilierung auf. Der Gefäßkörper ist von unten nach oben mit einem Mäanderband mit Kreuzplatte, einem Olivenkranz und einer Efeu- oder Weinranke verziert. Die einzelnen Register werden jeweils durch ein Punktband sowie oben und unten einer durchgehenden Linie begrenzt. Die Korbstruktur wird am oberen Abschluss deutlich, wo ein nach rechts gerichtetes Strichband angebracht ist.
Nach Ausweis antiker Darstellungen dienten Kalathoi zur Aufbewahrung und Bereitstellung von Wolle zur Verarbeitung.
