Die vielfach aufgelegte "Postilla" von Johann Arndt hier in einer bei Johann Stern in Lüneburg 1712 verlegten großformatigen Ausgabe ist im vorliegenden Exemplar in einem aufwendigen Metall-Einband gebunden. Reliefartig sind dargestellt auf der Vorderseite des Einbandes: Gottvater in der Mitte umgeben von Engelsköpfen, darüber ein von Pfeil durchbohrtes Herz mit Anker und Kreuz. Auf der Rückseite: das Auge Gottes, Fackel und Bischofsstab. In der Mitte Pelikan mit seinen Jungen. Auf dem Buchrücken: die drei Figuren von Glaube, Liebe, Hoffnung.
