Gemme in moderner Ringfassung (Krieger?)

Bis heute werden antike Gemmen in Schmuckstücke – vornehmlich Ringe und Anhänger – eingearbeitet, wie bei diesem Stück. Der Ring dürfte wohl um die Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts gefertigt worden sein, die Gemme dagegen stammt aus der römischen Kaiserzeit.
Die Darstellung zeigt eine nach links schreitende Figur. Auf dem Kopf trägt sie wohl einen Helm, in den beiden angewinkelten Armen je einen Stab, möglicherweise einen Speer oder Waffen. Vom Rücken scheint ein Gewand (ein Mantel?) nach hinten auszuwehen.
Aufgrund des tänzelnden Schrittes ist an archaistische Figuren der frühen Kaiserzeit zu denken.
