Bei dem Objekt handelt es sich um ein Randfragment eines Gefäßes, möglicherweise eines Bechers. Das durchscheinende blaue Glas ist mit einer Schicht opaken weißen Glases und einer weiteren durchscheinend leuchtend blauen Glases überfangen.
Die oberen Schichten sind ausgeschliffen, um so eine der Kameo-Technik ähnliche Gestaltung zu erzielen.
Dargestellt ist der Oberkörper einer weiblichen Figur in Rückansicht, die sich mit ihrer Linken das Haar vor einem Spiegel ordnet. Den Spiegel hält sie in ihrer Rechten. Das Haar und der Gewandzipfel eines Mantels werden durch die äußere blaue Schicht gebildet. Durch stärkeres Abschleifen über dem weißen Körper erscheint der Mantel hellblau.
Die Technik ist mit der Portlandvase im Londoner British Museum zu vergleichen.
