Innerhalb eines Wabengitters aus weißen Linien ist je eine Blüte in Millefiori-Technik zu erkennen. Um einen weißen Kern mit roter Kontur sind gelbe Punkte in einem grünen umlaufenden Band zu erkennen. Der Raum zwischen Blüte und weißer Wabe ist violett.
Für die Herstellung wurden verschiedenfarbige Gläser zu Röhrchen und Stangen geformt. Diese wurden zusammengepresst und erhitzt, wodurch ein langer Stab entstand. Das nun in Scheiben geschnittene Glas wies unterschiedliche amorphe oder florale Muster auf.
Danach wurden mehrere dieser Plättchen zusammengelegt, erneut erhitzt und in die Gefäßform gedrückt.
Aufgrund des aufwendigen Herstellungsprozesses und seiner Zerbrechlichkeit zählte Glas zu den Luxusartikeln der Antike.
