Eros mit Hahn und Traube

Der auf einen Pfeiler zu eilende Eros hält mit seiner Rechten eine große Traube hoch, um sie vor einem ihn verfolgenden Hahn zu schützen, der bereits gierig den Hals nach oben reckt.
Der rechte Flügel des Eros geht zur Seite, der linke ist nach oben gerichtet. Über seine rechte Schulter blickt er auf den Hahn herab, der neben seinem rechten Bein auf dem Boden steht. Der Eros trägt einen Kopfschmuck auf dem gelockten Haar. Eine fallende Stoffbahn ist vor dem Pfeiler und zwischen den Beinen des Eros sichtbar. Die Gruppe steht auf einer rechteckigen Sockelplatte.
Das Thema dieser reizvollen Gruppe war bis in späthellenistische Zeit hinein sehr beliebt, jedoch in unterschiedlichen Varianten. Meist fehlt der für die Geschlossenheit der Komposition wichtige Pfeiler.
