Bronzestatue des großen Buddha bei Kamakura

Die buddhistische Skulptur und insbesondere der Daibutsu, der Große Buddha, ist eines der beliebtesten Motive der japanischen Reisefotografie. Schon die Größe der Statue muss den Reisenden aus dem Westen beeindruckt haben: 13,35 Meter misst die Bronze-Skulptur, die der damalige Herrscher Hojo Yasutoki im 13. Jahrhundert für das 50 Kilometer südlich von Tokyo gelegene Kamakura hat anfertigen lassen. (Aya Fujita)
