Die bis auf die Schulter fallenden Haare des Satyrs werden auf dem Kopf hinter einer doppelten, gleichmäßigen Lockenreihe von einem Band gehalten, das hinter den mit Blättern bemalten spitzen Ohren verläuft. Die geschwungenen Augenbrauen stehen über mandelförmigen, großen Augen. Charakteristisch sind die breite Nase, der archaisch lächelnde Mund und die spitzen Ohren.
Die geschwungenen Augenbrauen, die Nase, die Gestaltung des Bartes in seiner stufigen Anordnung lassen auf eine Herkunft aus Etrurien schließen.
Die aufwendig gepflegte Haar- und Barttracht stehen in deutlichem Gegensatz zu den tierisch-wilden Gesichtszügen.
