Das Bild zeigt ein Teehaus (japanisch: Chaya oder Chamise, wörtlich übersetzt Teeladen). Das Teehaus diente ab 1400 als Rastplatz für Pilger auf dem Weg zum Tempel. Teehäuser eröffneten überall an den Überlandstraßen für die Reisenden, aber auch in Gärten für die Gäste, die zur Blütenschau kamen.
