Cannes Outdoor Lions

Every year awards for the most creative advertising campaigns worldwide are presented in a major international festival held at Cannes on the Côte d’Azur. A selection of the prize-winning advertising spots is compiled into the “Cannes Roll” and given a high-profile airing in the cinemas. The festival meanwhile gives awards in sixteen different categories of com-munication media. Of these, the outdoor segment has gained increasing significance over recent years, so that more than 5,000 outdoor campaigns from all over the world were submitted to the festival in 2014. Outdoor comprises mainly poster campaigns, but also other forms of advertising which take place in the open. From 30 January 2015 the exhibition “Cannes Outdoor Lions” will show advertising campaigns which received the coveted accolade of the Cannes Lion in 2014. Together with Agentur Jost von Brandis, the MKG is able to present more than 150 prints from the prizewinning campaigns.  The “Outdoor Lions” offer an impressive glimpse into current creative trends worldwide. Jost von Brandis is the German representative of the Outdoor Category at the Cannes Lions; the affiliated company WerbeWeischer has officially represented the Cannes Lions Festival in Germany since 1996.
