Workshop in English, no registration required, attendance is free of charge at the Freiraum.

To mark the exhibition "Threads of Becoming: Shifting Matter and Form in Translation", we will gather in the Freiraum to weave together and by ourselves, guided by artist Damien Ajavon, creating small textile pictures or continuing work on older weavings. Damien will show participants how to make a simple weaving frame and introduce the basics of weaving. You are welcome to bring a piece of textile that means something to you, or any material you would like to weave with. Old clothes, scraps of fabric, yarn, ribbons, threads, and other materials are all welcome.

Over tea, lemonade, and snacks, we will get into conversation, knot threads of connection, and exchange views on the social and political perspectives of textile craft. The aim is to spend time together, share materials and stories, and see what can emerge from the things we bring with us.
