On Sunday, 8 May 2022 from 10 am to 6 pm, Hamburg's museums are organising a joint benefit day for Ukraine. The motto is "Donation instead of admission - your visit for Ukraine"! All proceeds from the benefit day will go directly to the cooperating aid organisations Hanseatic Help e.V., the Hilfsnetzwerk für Überlebende der NS-Verfolgung in der Ukraine, and MenscHHamburg e.V.. On the benefit day, we will accept donations in cash or as a Paypal transfer. #hamburgstandswithukraine

Programme at MK&G

Raffle

In a large raffle, you can win curious objects, absolute rarities and special prizes such as the exclusive meeting "For an espresso with the director" or an original drawing by Otto Waalkes.

Book table

A book table will sell posters, catalogues and publications at special prices.

Family tour: puzzle tour through the ground floor for children from 6 years / 8-10 persons / meeting point: foyer

Music

Students of the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre play music in the Hall of Mirrors and on historical instruments from the Musical Instruments Collection starting from 12 pm.

Freiraum

In the Freiraum, the Ukrainian photographer Polina Andriyvna will be showing photographs of her hometown Dnipro. The photographer's prints and zines can be purchased! The proceeds will be donated to the TU Mariupol organisation.

#Peace

In addition, posters and photographs can be found throughout the building that deal with the desire for peace and the country of Ukraine in different ways. The works are by internationally renowned artists from the MK&G collection, including Yoko Ono, Klaus Staeck and Rita Ostrovska. In addition, contemporary protest posters by Polish designers that relate directly to the war in Ukraine will be exhibited.
