Location: Platz der Republik, Altona

As part of the STAMP Festival, two glitter enthusiasts — Julia Meer, co-curator of the glitter exhibition at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, and Sophia Bizer, director of the performative installation The Glitter Museum — come together for a Glitter Talk in public space. The conversation will be hosted by the dazzling Fiona Tretau of The Propcorner.

What makes glitter so fascinating? Who opened the first glitter exhibition? What are the similarities and differences between the two glitter exhibitions? What role does participation play in each? And how long will the final particle of glitter survive in the cracks of MK&G? The two glitter curators will share sparkling insights into their exhibition concepts and look forward to an open exchange.

Free of charge and no registration required.

Julia Meer is a curator at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (MK&G), where she leads the graphics and poster collection. She develops exhibitions, explores strategies for accessibility and participation, and enjoys expanding the collection with works rarely collected before — whether glittering or created by FLINTA* artists.

Sophia Bizer is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher who feels at home in the world of objects. With minimal materials, she creates small- and large-scale worlds that only come to life through visitor interaction. With roots in visual art, she merges visual and performative approaches into new, surprising formats.

Fiona Tretau is a fashion designer, costume artist, and owner of the fashion store The Propcorner. Her designs often reference iconic moments of pop culture, usually underpinned by a feminist foundation. The props are often glittery, mostly ironic, sometimes trashy, and almost always political.

STAMP is an international festival for art & theater in public space. From July 4–6, 2025, it transforms Altona into an urban stage for contemporary circus, immersive theater, site-specific productions, participatory performances, and artistic interventions — where genres blend into a unique open-air program.
