Friedrich Becker, one of the most preeminent goldsmiths of the 20th century, revolutionised the art of jewellery making with his kinetic designs from the 1960s. He was interested in variable jewellery. While his designs are decorated with brilliants or emeralds, the pieces are not stiff and representative. The physical foundation of this design ensures constant motion, and therefore, the shape changes, creating a new effect every time the piece is worn. Becker’s jewellery combines the epiphany of technical precision, with a zest for playfulness and a passion for experimentation.
