Period of Three Kingdoms, Silla, 5th -6th century KoreaGoldH 10 cm

This jewellery was found in a Korean tomb dating back to the period of the 5th to 6th centuries, during the so-called Silla-dynasty (57 B.C.-935 A. D.). The  rulers and noble families of this Korean dynasty owned symbols of their status such as golden crowns, necklaces, rings and drop earrings like these. These drop earrings are hollow and have been crafted from gold plate. The lower part of the earrings resemble beechnuts.
