The French artist Felix Del Marle designed this dining room, with inspiration influenced by the manifestos and work of De Stijl, a group of Dutch artists. De Stijl aspired to the ideal of pure, abstract form. They sought to create an order that could encompass all aspects of life, one that was independent from nature, environment and sentiment. Felix Del Marle’s design has reduced the furniture to its basic elements in this same spirit. The pieces are constructed from planned timber and boards; the constructed elements and materials have been emphasised through colour.
